Now more than ever, we live in a world that continually encourages us to think for ourselves, decide our own paths and speak “our truth”. We are encouraged to whole heartedly stand on how we feel, what we think and hold our opinion as a true hallmark of personal success as defined by the world!
But in our deep dive into self and “our truth”, we as a society are find ourselves falling farther and farther away from God as we fail to consider what success even looks like to Him and if he has already established a “truth” separate from our feelings, thoughts and opinions.
When we turn to the Scriptures and take a look at Isaiah 46:10, it is clear that God has indeed already established his “counsel” and “pleasure” from the “beginning” and before “ancient times”! Much before you and I came on the scene, God in his love and wisdom, has offered us deliverance in the instructions He gives separete from us. God has already established what “THE” truth is!
In John 18:37, as Jesus is being questioned by Pilate, Jesus tells Pilate “…Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” And Pilate immediately asks the same question that we naturally ask in verse 38: “What is Truth?”
What is God’s truth that is separate from myself and the world and has already been established for me before the very beginning? In John 17:17, Jesus answers this question head on when he prays for his disciples asking God to “Sanctify them through thy truth” concluding…thy Word is truth”. In contrast to the worlds lie, that there are many truths, God’s Word declares the total opposite- that there is only one truth and the Word of God is that truth! (Eph 4:5, Col 2:8).
The Word of God is Gods instructions found throughout the Scriptures. In Tim 3:16, we see the confidence God puts in his Word as he declares it to be “profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” ie.. to direct and guide us in every role we face in this life as people, spouses and as parents if God has blessed us with children. As Jesus concludes in John 8:31, “If ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed (32) and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”. Are you free?
With the world urging us to look within ourselves to feel happy and free, the Word directs us to do the total opposite by TURNING from ourselves and looking to God. In reality, God’s doesn’t stop at making us feel better but truly frees us by his guidance and direction for lives from not only from outside matters such as the worlds teachings and traditions but also (Col 2:8) the inner bondages, imaginations and character defects found within our minds.
What is Truth Ministries is committed to teaching God’s Truth according to His Word directly from the Scriptures just as Jesus instructed us to do in Luke 24:47 stating “that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”.
Bishop J. Allen Sweets is a man of God after God’s own heart with attributes required for a Pastor to fulfill the charge according to Jeremiah 3:15, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
